Kid’s Reading Challenge

Signup is open June 10th!

Ready for Summer library fun? Here is what to do:

1. Read or be read to 20 minutes a day.

2. After 7 days are completed bring in your reading record.

3. Pick a book and a prize from the prize cart.

4. Have fun and read a lot!

 

Adult & Teen Reading Challenge

Pick up a ticket starting June 10th!

How it works:

1. Just read a book - anything you like. Best sellers, the classics, science fiction, graphic novels, histories, romance - it's up to you. E-books, books on tape or CD, and downloadable audio books count too!

2. Come into the library and fill out a ticket with your name, contact info, and the title of the book.

3. Place the ticket into a drawing for great prizes. The adult and teen reading challenges have the same rules, but different prizes.

4. Participants can enter two tickets per week and do not need to be present to win.

 

Storytime at Pioneer Park

Every Thursday at 9:30am - June 13th – July 25th

Join us at the park for stories and playgroup. All ages welcome, recommended age 0-5.

 

LEGO’s @ the Library

June 18th, July 16th, & August 20th at 6pm

Wednesday Summer Library Program Series

Blast Off!

Wed. June 19th at 2pm

Listen to a Storytime from an astronaut and then create your own self-propelled rocket!

 

Comedian and Magician Jeff McMullen (Sponsored by the Westfield Lions Club)

Wed. June 26th at 2pm

Mr. Jeff is a multifaceted vaudevillian with an emphasis on physical comedy who entertains audiences young and old alike with his antics!! Whether in or out of makeup, his audiences are amused and amazed by his talent and his warm family friendly demeanor.

 

Crazy for Constellations

Wed. July 3rd at 2pm

Join us as we get crazy for constellations. See constellations up close with flashlights, see the night sky the night you were born, and put your favorite constellations on paper! If you are feeling hungry you can even create an edible constellation with pretzels and marshmallows!

 

Solar System Tour (Presented by Marquette County 4-H Youth Development)

Wed. July 10th at 2pm

Take a tour of our Solar System as we discuss its most basic elements. We have fun educational activities planned including a planet distance activity and a solar system scavenger hunt!

 

Snow Queen (Frozen) Interactive Play (At the Marquette County Fairgrounds)

Thur. July 18th at 4pm

Join us at the Marquette County Fair to meet Elsa and watch a special Snow Queen performance.

 

LEGO Robotics (Presented by Marquette County 4-H Youth Development)

Wed. July 24th at 2pm

LEGOS! ROBOTS! What else needs to be said?!

 

Magician and Juggler Bob Kann (Sponsored by The Friends of the Library)

Tues. July 30th at 2pm

Bob presents an entertainment extravaganza guaranteed to tickle audiences’ funny bones and spark their imaginations. Bob uses storytelling, juggling, magic, and everything but the kitchen sink to “make em’ laugh.”
