Expanding Library Services

The Ethel Everhard Memorial Library will allowing people in on Thursday June 11 for those who need to use computers by appointment with a 45-minute time limit. Personal headphones may be used. People may also request usage for faxes and copies by appointment as well. Starting Monday June 15th, the library will be opening to five people to come into the library and browse the selections. This would be in addition to the computer appointments, so a total of 7 patrons would be in the library at any given time.

If the library is at capacity, we would ask that you wait until someone comes out for you to enter and a sign will be placed on the door to the library collection. You may wait in the entrance lobby with social distancing in mind. Curbside pickup will continue forward for the time being for anyone wanting to cut down on exposure or for those who simply prefer this option. The procedure of calling for an appointment remains the same, but we will not call people about their books starting the 15th. Emails about pick up should have already started again Further, normal loan periods will apply to all materials.  Please return your items (except for hotspots which would be returned directly to us) to the book drop on or before the due date.  Fines will once again accrue on late items starting June 11. If you have used the online catalog to place a hold, once you have been notified that your material has arrived, you will have one week to pick it up. Several suggestions are highly recommended to keep yourself and others safe:

Avoid touching items that you have no interest in taking home. Likewise, if you bring in your children please try to keep them from going through all of the books and focus in on one stack.

Wear masks.

Keep social distancing from other people.

Avoid socializing with people inside the building for more than 5 minutes at a time. Please utilize your time in the library to get the items you want so that others may come in promptly.

Wash your hands before entering the library.

If you are feeling sick, please stay home and if something must be grabbed from the library, use the curbside service.

Magazines and Newspapers will be not be available for reading. The water fountain, toys for kids, and our meeting room will be off limits until further notice.
